client: Le Comptoir

I designed this Bar Stool for the Reservation Only / Farm to Table Concept Restaurant by Chef Gary Menes. I did not design the space - I designed the chair to fit the space.

material: Bent Solid Cold Rolled Steel. Walnut Back.

Location: Nuetra VDL House / show: HomeLA : One House Twice / Sculpture title: Intimate Loop

The Nuetra VDL House is as much a sculpture as a home. The structure incorporates glass and mirror to project natural light throughout the space. My piece was in response to the location. Using mirror, stained glass, and motion [ the sculpture rotates as the viewer interacts with it ] to send slivers of colored light throughout the space.

Location: Hammer Museum / show: In Real Life: 100 Days of Film and Performance / title: Recollection Recreation / material: metal, pipe, and lathed and sculpted wood

Based on the first object I ever loved - my childhood jungle gym. The viewer rotates the upper portion of this piece - causing the interior pipes and wood to create bell like tones.

client: The Everybody Gym Los Angeles [ the first non-gendered gym ]

I designed and built the reception area, non-gender locker room, individual private changing rooms, and yoga studio.

client: Private Home [ Mount Washington, Los Angeles ]

The owner and architect of this home had saved a fallen Canary Pine tree - letting it air dry in his driveway - for years. Each piece of wood had to be planed by me on-site using a handheld router with a home made track before any designing could begin. Many hours of hard labor - and all and all - a beautiful experience.

Location: The Pit Gallery / show: A Room Play’s Itself / Collaboration with artist: Rebecca Bruno

Installation / Performance : A performed sound installation. Performances happened over the course of the opening day. After each performance the audience was given small rubber mallets and invited to play the room themselves. In a sense - our performances were demonstrations - the true performances were that of the audience.

Hour Glass seating - Rebecca bruno and Samantha Mohr performed 8 hour performances throughout the duration of the show. Rebecca wanted there to be seating - but not typical chairs.
